Ahh, the long back-order wait is over and I'm finally getting this:
Fantastik Türk Sineması; the bible on Turkish films in the "fantastic" genres! And no I'm not getting it from Turkey but the US. 31 bucks + postage from www.tulumba.com
Hi there,I got this one off Tulumba.I've been studying it carefully for the last couple of months.I think it's worth having. An all English edition is needed, the pictures alone make this book worth owning.I haven't got the mondo macabro book,do you know how many pages there are in the turkish section of this(MM) book ?
Hey Tombei, Yeah an English edition would be nice! I wish Onar would release a translated one. I just checked and the Turkish chapter is 13 pages (the print is tiny so there's a lot a text).
Yep jack J,I was thinking along the same lines. If not a book, maybe an up-dated dvd-rom with an entry for all the fantastic/cult genre films, with posters for each movie, picture galleries,a brief synopsis as well as the credits for each flick.A Turkish fantastic film encyclopedia on disc.I know this might be asking for too much when Onar Bill is having trouble with his sales but this might be something he could do in the future, when sales pick up.
You could keep an eby on Amazon. It's OOP but sometimes you can get it fairly cheap. There are different editions of it, both US and UK releases and right now the US edition (with the Lo Lieh cover) is $35 while the UK version (Boxer's Omen cover) is a whooping $133!! There's also a Spanish edition that contains an extra chapter on Pakistani cinema.
Jack J,thanks for the tips.I'll keep an eye out for that MM book.$133usd for a book!!!I've seen some clowns on ebay selling the Turkish double bill pop cinema dvd on MM for a $116usd.What a rip off, when crisp movies on ebay is selling it for 17 dollars. tombei
