hi there Jack,I've got this one on a bootleg dvd off ebay a couple of years ago.One of my favourite movies. The quality on my boot dvd is very grainy and somewhat blurry.Hopefully it will come out on an English language version in the near future.Love the groovey theme song too. Tombei
I have this on a reg.1 bootleg that I got from eBay and tape I taped from TCM (or TNT as it were back then). The boot is from an old fullscreen VHS release. And I agree I'd love to see a proper DVD version too.
The theme song was covered by a garage punk band in the 1980s called the Fuzztones. It's available on the Knights of Fuzz dvd/dvdrom.Below the lyrics for Green Slime :- Open the door you'll find the secret To find the answer is to keep it You'll believe it when you find Something screaming 'cross your mind Green slime
What can it be, what is the reason Is this the end of all that breathes, and Is it something in your head? Will you believe it when you're dead? Green slime, green slime, green slime
What can it be, what is the reason Is this the end to all that we've done? Is it something in your dead? Will you believe it when you're dead? Green slime, green slime, green slime
I wouldn't mind having that Japanese language version of Green Slime but it's a bit out of my price range at $56.Those japanese you tube trailers seem more clearer than my bootleg copy. tombei
And they're letterboxed. I don't know if your boot is the same as mine but mine is fullscreen, and I'd sure love to get a proper DVD copy in its correct picture format!
Thanks Jack J for your comments,Mine goes letterbox (with a green border) when there are credits.Otherwise it's full screen like yours.I've been reading about green slime on the internet and it seems that this movie and the Batman Tv series with Adam West are high on everyone's list for a an official dvd reissue.I would also add the green hornet tv series in their as well.Hopefully when that Seth rogan remake comes out, the hornet series will be included in with the merchandise. cheers Tombei
Hi, I'm a Uni student from Australia and just reviewed 'The Green Slime' for my group assessment. I think this is a cool movie with a great title song. :)
G'day-mate-howz-it-goin-you-alright-ay. LOL. I used to live in OZ so that's cool. xD. And yes I agree it's a cool flick and I'd love to have the old 7" soundtrack record. :D
I love this movie. Have it recorded from TV somewhere.
ReplyDeleteOne day I hope there will be a nice, fine, glorious dvd out to.
There already is a nice DVD release. In Japan, dubbed in glorious Japanese. :-(
ReplyDeleteThat Japanese DVD is a lot shorter than the US cut, though. Around 77 minutes I think. My father used to have the 45 of the Green Slime theme song.
ReplyDelete77 minutes! Shock horror! I didn't know that (but now I can see it's actually mentioned on IMDb). Thanks for the info Brian.
