Lady Exterminator (the Hong Kong film!!!)

In 1977 Shaw Brothers made a sequel to their DRUG CONNECTION (on Celestial dvd as Sexy Killer) called LADY EXTERMINATOR (not to be confused with the Indonesian films Lady Exterminator or Lady Terminator). Some fans seem to believe THE DRUG CONNECTION and LADY EXTERMINATOR are the same film. But they ARE two different films, LADY EXTERMINATOR being a sequel to DRUG CONNECTION.

If you check the two films on HKMDb they have different separate entries, different posters, different credits, different Chinese titles, and different year of production.

Anyway, there is someone in Germany who has uploaded the first few minutes of LADY EXTERMINATOR to Youtube. The print looks like it's from a real cinema print. It's very scratched, dubbed in English and has two sets of subtitles of which one is Arabic! Maybe the uploader owns a real film print. I've written to him but haven't received any reply. Either he's away on holiday or he may want to keep his secret film to himself. I don't know but I'd love to get a copy. Do any of you have a copy of this film??? Or even just know anything about it??? Thanks.

And here for your amusement: A major fuck up from a bootlegger: The idiots have put out a bootleg dvd with the INDONESIAN film LADY EXTERMINATOR (starring Eva Arnaz) but they obviously got most of the pictures from HKMDb not realising it was a different movie from a different country, hahaha. Why they didn't discover the mistake (considering they actually not only have a picture of Eva Arnaz on the cover but also the alternative title for the Indo film I Want To Get Even) is... beyond me.

  1. Sorry Jack to hijack this post, but you seem to be knowledgable in Shaw Brothers.. recommend me some nice and bloody SB movies... I just watched Bloody parrot and I need more like that.... :)

  2. If I seem knowledgeable in Shaw Brothers then it's only because I'm a fraud. Haha. I am not very well adverse in SB's kung fu films. What I know (a little) about is their horror films and, well, quite frankly there aren't that many of them. However, one person who knows HEAPS about Shaw Brothers is my regular reader Brian B. Brian has written extensively about SB movies on his AWESOME blog "Cool Ass Cinema" and he even has a 3-part introductory article. Here's a link to Chang Cheh's 10 best films:

And if you check the labels to the right you'll find links to the 3-part article. I highly recommend Brian's Cool Ass Cinema blog as it's a real film blog and not some fershtunkener schmaltz written by some putz who's just seeking attension like the one you're on right now. Haha.

  3. Hi, Jocke. This is Brian (V5). Jack is definitely the Go-To Guy when it comes to Asian horror. He will undoubtedly steer you in the right direction and he defines and appreciates "good trash" more than I can these days. I have a number of trash flicks lying around, but have yet to immerse myself in them.

The Chang Cheh article he mentions is going to be a lot more than three parts. I have yet to upload part three. I've been incredibly busy of late (Damn!). There is a Shaw/kung fu cinema article there that I've posted up to part 4 with more to come.

If you want bloody Shaw movies, you need to seek out these. There are some horror flicks, here, too--

    DUEL FOR GOLD (1971)
    KING BOXER (1972)
    AMBUSH (1973)
    THE OATH OF DEATH (1971)
    DEADLY DUO (1971)
    THE DUEL (1971)
    BEWITCHED (1981)
    THE BOXER'S OMEN (1983)
    THE RESCUE (1972)
    THE LADY HERMIT (1971)
    LOST SOULS (1980)
    WHAT PRICE HONESTY (1980)...

There's lots more, but these immediately come to mind.

  4. Jack, a friend of mine possibly has access to LADY EXTERMINATOR, but I've not talked to him about it lately. Again, I've been immersed in other things and haven't spoken with him lately. Not sure, but if so, I'll let you know if I ever get to see the film.

It's obviously two different movies as Derek Erh wasn't in the first movie, but he's plainly in the sequel. His first film if I'm not mistaken.

Excellent post just the same on this mysterious missing movie from 1977.

  5. Thanks for your info on the Shaws, Brian and..... I AM GETTING LADY EXTERMINATOR!!! It's surfaced!!!!!

I'll do a review when I get it but until then you can check out this thread on the (almost unknown) fansite FLK:

The important info is at the bottom of page one!!! Apparently the FLK guys have got hold of the Arabian print and have cleaned it up so it looks much better than the print on YouTube (I've got in contact with that guy who uploaded it as well).

  6. Thanx Brian, thats a long list. There will be quite a substantial order from me to when the next paycheck arrives. :)
